Product Description
CARDONE Remanufactured Transfer Case Motors are designed to meet or exceed O.E. performance. Reverse engineering provides insight into how and why the unit originally failed, allowing our engineers to identify and correct original design weaknesses. Each unit is 100% computer tested at three points during the remanufacturing process to ensure reliability. CARDONE is committed to getting your vehicle back to peak performance with our direct-replacement transfer case motors.
Product & Technical
The replacement motor drive is in a different position, can I reposition before installing?
Do not operate the motor while it is off the transfer case. This can damage the motor and set an error code that must be cleared before the motor will operate again. Shift the transfer case into the position of the motor to install. Can I install the replacement motor if my Transfer Case motor failed in 4 Wheel Drive Low or High?
Yes, the transfer case should be manually shifted into the two-wheel drive position at the shift shaft before the installation of the replacement motor. Typically the positions are spring-loaded and can be rotated manually. What tool can I use to manually shift the transfer case into the two-wheel drive position before I install the replacement motor?
A crescent wrench can be used for this operation. What drivetrain position is the replacement motor drive placed in?
The replacement motor drive is factory-set in the 2 wheel drive position. The Service 4WD light is on and/or the 4WD is inoperative. What could cause this condition?
This may be caused by a transfer case control module calibration issue. Check for DTC's and calibration version − there may be a software update from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. If the motor attempts to shift, but sounds weak, check the front axle lock actuator. If the axle lock does not engage, the motor cannot complete its engagement.
