    Are there any special tools needed to remove and install the pulley?
    Yes, use of the correct tool based on engine application and pulley type is necessary to prevent damage to the pulley.


    How important is belt condition and tension?
    The age and continual flexing of a belt will cause it to crack and deteriorate. Stretching loosens the belt, causing it to slip on the pulleys. A cracked belt will eventually break. The tension and general condition of the belt should be checked periodically.


    Do you powder coat your pulleys?
    Pulleys are painted with weather resistant epoxy paint.


    How far should the replacement pulley be pressed on the shaft for correct alignment with the other accessory pulleys?
    The replacement pulley should be pressed to the point where the hub is flush with the end of the shaft.


    How can I check to see if the replacement pulley is aligned with the adjacent accessory pulleys?
    Accessory pulley alignment should be checked using a straightedge if a pulley alignment issue is suspected. The straightedge should lie flat across the fascia of two adjacent pulleys. If the straightedge does not lie flat, then one of the pulleys is misaligned. To validate which of the pulleys is causing the issue, check each against other pulleys until you isolate the one that is out of line. Pulley alignment can also be checked with a laser alignment tool.
